1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Booklog, the app and the web version at getbooklog.com (together, the "App"), published by Demerzel Studio LLC ("Demerzel Studio", "we", "us"). By installing, opening, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, and to access the web version in a browser, for personal, non-commercial use, subject to the App Store or Google Play usage rules.
3. Account
You can use the App without an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, your books, reading logs, and quotes are saved and synced across devices. You are responsible for access to your Apple or Google account.
4. Pro subscription
- Plans: monthly (R$ 14,90 per month), yearly (R$ 89,90 per year, with a 7-day free trial), and lifetime (R$ 249,90, one-time payment). Prices shown at checkout, in the store or on the website, apply.
- You subscribe in the app, through the App Store or Google Play, or on the website at getbooklog.com. Subscriptions bought on the website are billed by Stripe. Pro works on the same account, in the app and on the web, wherever you bought it.
- The web version at getbooklog.com is part of Pro: you sign in by scanning a QR code with the app.
- Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until cancelled.
- Website subscriptions: you cancel in the subscriber portal (link in your receipt email) or under You in the app.
- Store subscriptions: you cancel in your App Store or Google Play settings; we cannot cancel on your behalf.
- Refunds for website subscriptions are handled by Demerzel Studio: ask at support@demerzelstudio.com within 7 days of the charge (right of withdrawal under the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code). Store purchases follow Apple's or Google's refund policies.
5. Your content
Quotes, notes, and comments you create remain yours. To store and sync them, you allow us to host them and show them only to the audience you choose (yourself, accepted friends, members of a club, or everyone, on your public page at getbooklog.com). You are responsible for what you post.
6. Friends, challenges, and clubs
Your progress is visible only to friends you accept, unless you make a part of your profile visible to everyone. In clubs and buddy reads, respect other readers: no harassment, hate speech, spam, or spoilers outside page-locked areas. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use the App for unlawful purposes; (b) reverse-engineer the App except as permitted by law; (c) interfere with the App or its servers; (d) post content that infringes the rights of others, including reproducing entire books.
8. Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Book data and covers come from sources such as Google Books, Open Library, and Hardcover and may contain errors.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Demerzel Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data arising from your use of the App. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without prejudice to the rights granted to users in Brazil by the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code.
